Rating Key: (for Std Class glider and average Silver level pilot)
Posted: 01 February 2010
By: Ian

0 = Unflyable
1 = Flyable (no soaring likely)
2 = Local Soaring
3 = XC (up to 150kms)
4 = Good XC (150-300kms, perhaps 3-5 hours soaring)
5 = Excellent XC (300kms+ with 5 hours+ soaring likely)

Rating for average thermal strengths:

Weak (W) = 0-3kts...
Moderate (M) = 3-6kts...Strong (S) = 6kts or greater...

Not Applicable (N/A) = No Soaring Likely

NOTE 1: These are 'airmass' figures so you need to deduct the glider sink-rate to find 'climb' values

NOTE 2: Due to work commitments, etc, forecasts will not always be updated daily. I will try to update at least twice a week.
